(This may change as I continue to find myself) Updated 05/20/06
I reside in Pennsylvania where I have been since 1965. Born in Atlantic City, New Jersey. I am the youngest of four. Two brothers and a beautiful sister. This past December both my brothers died. My oldest, Walter at age 53 – Dec 20th and my youngest brother James at age 50. Two brothers in two different states. My parents both passed at a very early age so it’s just me and my sister.
I began writing just before my teenage years. First it started with a simple diary. From there I moved on to short stories. I was extremely shy as a child and released my emotions using pen and paper. I had a great imagination and I would tuck my writings away so that no one else could read or see what I was feeling. This was just the beginning of Hide – N -Seek for me.
I couldn’t imagine anyone reading what I had written, much less think it was good. I was deeply surprised when I released my first book. I felt as if I was naked to the world. I was frightened, overwhelmed and extremely happy. All of which depressed me somehow. Go Figure! What a brain game that was. Though, I wasn’t sure if I liked that feeling enough to continue to share and display my emotions for anyone to see. Time passed I adjusted. Look at me now. I couldn’t imagine myself any other way.
In 1983 I decided to enter a contest. I was nervous and surely did not want rejection. Although rejection is also inspiring and often a positive tool for writers. It some how makes you feel real when you recieve a few pink slips before you are truly published. Sounds pretty sad but at least you know someone is actually reading your words and not just humoring your ego.
I was published and began my journey of online writing… working more with the computer and different online services. I was offered a job in the early 80’s with a company called, Portal Communications. I worked with Portal until the early 90’s when I was offered a position with McGraw Hill as an online moderator with BIX. Later BIX was sold though I continued with the company. I also worked with an online service called Computer Productions out of California.
I’ve published several books, a video, Poetry In Motion.
Hopefully someday I will continue work on my second video. I have the footage and most of the poetry, I just need the inspiration and energy.
Besides chatting with old and new friends.
I discovered that I really enjoy photography. Being a word artist is a magnificent way to express the beauty that the heart seeks. Though at times there are no words. The images of a photograph comply for that moment. However, no print can replace the film that the heart envisions.
Other hobbies include collecting sunsets, walks on the beach. Dabbling with charcoal and pencil. I have a great passion for the outdoors and tree hugging. Yes.. tree hugging! The best trees to hug are in Lake Tahoe. A very inspirational place.
